Round Downpipes

Round downpipes are the perfect addition to our stylish, durable aluminium guttering systems.

Our round aluminium downpipes are available in various sizes and profiles, but their primary function is the same. They channel rainwater away from your roof and into your guttering system.

You can cut aluminium round downpipe sections on-site using standard metalworking tools. However, we advise not to use angle grinders to cut downpipes.

Where downpipes or fittings are powder coated, cut edges should be de-burred and repainted with touch-up paint (available from Aluminium Superstore).

We have a range of swaged, collared and flush joint round downpipes available.

Choose 63mm, 76mm, 101mm and 150mm round downpipes in lengths of 1, 2 or 3 metres (1000mm, 2000mm and 3000mm). The size of a round downpipe would depend on how much water needs to be drained from your roof into the drainpipe.

The gutter system will have an entry point at one end and an exit from the other. The exit is where you would want to put your round downpipe to allow water to flow freely into your round downpipe without any restriction whatsoever. So, if you need any of our round downpipes, do not hesitate to check out the UK's Aluminium Superstore for the best round pipes you can have.

Attractive Benefits of Round Downpipes

Round downpipes are a popular choice for many homeowners and contractors. They are incredibly durable and will last for years to come. They also offer several attractive benefits, including the following:

Easier Cleaning

One of the significant benefits of using round downpipes for your gutters is that they make cleaning easier. Unlike square-shaped downpipes, you do not need to climb on top of your roof to clean them. It also makes cleaning them from inside your home and outside easy by using a hose pipe or water pressure wash.

More Durable

Another advantage of using our round downpipes is that they are more durable than other types of pipes used for gutters. Our downpipes are made in the UK using high-strength aluminium sheets and supplied by ARP Ltd, a leading metal guttering manufacturer.

Using quality aluminium rainwater goods from reputable UK manufacturers means you will not have to replace them anytime soon after installation, saving you time and money in the long run.

Less Damage from Leaves

Round downpipes also tend to be less susceptible to damage from falling leaves and debris than other types of gutter material. Because they are open at both ends, any leaves that get into them will fall out again instead of causing blockages like in closed-end sections.

They Are Easily Customisable

You can order bespoke round downpipes with different colours, textures and finishes, allowing you to easily match your home's exterior colour scheme and style. It also makes it easier for contractors to provide customised client options.

They Are Affordable

Affordable round downpipes are a wise investment that will last decades. The money saved over time means that homeowners and contractors can save on installation costs by using round models instead of other styles of pipes when doing projects such as remodelling kitchens, bathrooms or basements.

How to Install Round Downpipes

You can find installation instructions on our website to show you how to install aluminium downpipes correctly.

Materials needed for installation:

  • Spirit level/straight edge
  • Suitable screwdriver/attachment
  • Sealant caulking gun
  • Pencil or chalk
  • String or laser line
  • Hacksaw/electric jigsaw/chop saw
  • Tape measure
  • Small wrench

We advise that you ensure the fixing background is in good condition, will support the downpipe, and that sufficient clips/brackets are in place to secure the load.

When fitting round downpipes, start from the outlet and work towards the gully. Ensure you have the right combination of offsets/bends/branches and pipe to complete the installation.

Seal joints using only a low-modulus sealant, such as Arbosil 1096.
