How to Install Aluminium Copings
Follow this step-by-step installation guide based on ARP Trueline Flat Coping Instructions:
- Pre-Installation Preparation: Ensure the parapet wall surface is level and properly aligned to prevent installation issues. Use a minimum of 18mm marine ply and a weatherproof membrane on top of the structure.
- Fixing Brackets: Install coping brackets at a maximum of 1-meter intervals and place jointing brackets directly under adjoining coping sections. Secure brackets to the wall substrate to a depth of at least 50mm.
- Installing the Coping:
- Start from Corners: Begin installation at a corner, T-section, or stopend to maintain alignment.
- Clip-Fit the Coping: Loop one edge of the coping over the external edge of the bracket and pivot back toward the roof side.
- Secure the Fit: Compress the EPDM strips as you clip the coping into place.
- Trim On-Site: Use a jigsaw to cut coping to size, deburring edges and touching up with paint if needed.
